My business approach is to make my services personalised and simple.
I love to sew, it’s my passion. It wasn’t a natural career path though, as I spent many of my teenage years stapling together my textile homework. However once I got to college my creativity was unleashed. After I finished my studies I started work at a soft furnishings company, where I was taught all of the old school techniques from start to finish.
It was a fantastic experience but at that point in my life it wasn’t enough. I was young and I wanted to travel so I moved completely away from my natural skill set to an area of business that I knew nothing of, other than I wanted to travel. It was a job that would let me travel and travel I did.
Those days are behind me now and I have left the travel working world. My life has changed all for the better, but the sewing bug was still there. A little voice at the back of my head was telling me that it was time to go back, one stitch at a time.
So here I am beginning a new chapter as a sole trader and following my dream.
A beautiful set of curtains or blinds can turn the most ordinary of rooms into something altogether more special. I love working with my customers to turn their ideas and inspirations into reality.

7/26/2021 - Well this was a journey not sure I expected quite where we’d go from day 1 of meeting Helena but we have exceeded our expectations! Curtains by Helena helped me complete the finishing touches to two of our most decorative rooms. One was with fine silk from our honeymoon and the second we built from scratch together. On installation day I simply sat back whilst Helena and her husband Stuart went through turning our house into our dream home. I absolutely love the end result all my rooms not only look beautiful, they all function with my busy family home in mind. 9/05/2020 - My new curtains look absolutely fabulous on the new luxurious curtain rail. They are so well made I now want to do the whole house. I also had new blinds, venetian and verticals, which were expertly installed and look really modern. Am really just overjoyed with the whole experience. Highly recommended.
